Tampering with Textiles - Tiffany Loy

Tiffany Loy, an industrial designer by training, is featured in our Singapore Rocks series. Inspired by Pierre Charpin, a French designer known for his work with Alessi, Tiffany ventured into sewing, using heat treatment on synthetic fibres, and in the process, creating 'bubble-wrap like' textures, Yummy!

HELLO! As we move on to become EXCESSIVE wonders

Hello everyone, we are still the 2 crazy sisters making and sewing and beading and conducting hand-made experiments. But we are no longer called Humptydump, which we discovered was a tad awkward to explain that it has also got a pornographic stance.

EXCESSIVE wonders was borne from the younger of us both. It meant that what we make and craft may seem excessive, as with all accessories (wink, wink) but we can never have enough of it, the wonder and irony of it all, much like the category of shoes.

With this change, we hope to be a little more grown-up, yet keep the sense of amazement and wonder everytime we 'ooh' and 'aah' when we see an accessory that blows us off this planet a little.

We are going to continue growing this little outpost of ours through making unique and exciting objects for our very important customers, friends and family who have been giving us immense support through their honest feedback, requests and out-of-this-world ideas.

Thank you everyone and hoping to catch you around the neighbourhood flea market soon!

Love and kisses, Agnes and Carol on Excessive Wonders

Free hand-embroidered Leica M9

We love a challenge and more so if it involves stitching. If it proves popular, we might be making more.

One of the most iconic cameras, the Leica M9, rendered on backstitch.

Nut the Squirrel makes its debut at Humptydump

Once upon a time, there lived a tiny squirrel. He was smaller than other fellow squirrels, standing stoutly at a height of 10 cm. However our dear little friend has lofty ambitions. He wants to climb the highest mountains and scale the tallest trees. He has the courage of a lion and is never afraid to try anything at least once. We love him dearly, and he is available for pre-order. Made from recycled mohair gloves.

Rock on Singapore ++ The Grills of Tiong Bahru Estate

We are so inspired by the grills of each of the SIT flats in the now-oh-so-hip Tiong Bahru Estate we might just make a series of somethings out from the grill motifs we collected!
