The haunting images of Todd Hido

First stumbled upon the works of American photographer Todd Hido while randomly crawling the net. These images blew us away and reminded us of the desolation and isolation of mankind, reminiscent of the works of Edward Hopper, urban landscapes void of humans. More works can be found at Todd Hido.

Mark it down. 15 November. Maison Martin Margiela X H&M

Curious but wondering if the Margiela house has sold out with this collaboration? We are definitely checking this out. And hopefully, the 104 signature pieces culled from the maison will be faithfully replicated. Here's a first look.

Illustration - Absolution Skincare

We are always on the look-out for black and white drawings and this takes the spot for clean simples lines. Absolution is a skin-care brand from France well known for its organic qualities and clever packaging. What we love is the minimalist yet not minimalist use of our two non-colours! Illustrations from Crabtree & Evelyn - Himalayan Blue Collection

To launch the Himalaya Blue range of body products, Crabtree & Evelyn sent a very inspirational catalogue lovingly hand-drawn. The hues of blues and greens are so soothing, we tried something of our own.

Of moody teacups, public embroidery and happy handmade dolls

Humptydump salutes some of the very best in hand-made craziness and talents.

First up, we have always seen grids on outdoor furniture and wondered if anyone would actually use it as cross-stitch cloth. Guess what somebody actually did it! Kudos to the folks at Craft for showcasing the work of Miss Cross Stitch. See the full interview here and the amazing blog here. Looks like we are not alone!

Over at , we chanced upon the works of Hankie, dolls destined to be heirlooms.

And finally, here's the folks from Silly Little Teacups. We fell in love with it while browsing our favourite magazine FRANKIE. It always feels like their crockery takes on a life of their own. Dont understand what we meant? See for yourself. More at their Facebook page

We did it! Plants in teacups! Whoppee, just in time for Christmas and special friends.

Plants in teacups... first saw these in shops and decided to try our hands at this. It is seriously not too difficult. All you need is a porcelain marker (Pebeo or Marabu from Art Friend), a plain teacup with saucer (looks more authentic), steady hands, a design in mind/on paper, a few succulents, a few hours and you are done. In case you are wondering, there is no need to bake the finished tea cup, just let it air-dry for 4 days and you are set to go. Happy planting!
